Alana & Mommy

A few months ago I came back from my trip to California ready to keep pursuing my dream career as a baby photographer. So I scheduled a few Valentine Petite sessions indoors because of the bitter Virginia weather. The day came when an afternoon in February I had a list of babies to photograph , one of them was miss Alana Sophia. She had a very calm demeanor, wearing her curly hair down, we started the session with a few blank stares as she figured out what was happening, but she was soon laughing and gracing us with her sweet little smile. Alana's mother, Jackie, a very open minded and welcoming woman shared her daughter's composition, together we learned that although there was a difference in age, we had a few things in common, other than we both completely love Alana LOL.

Sweet little Alana Sophia

Getting ready to cry, she did not like the cold grass

Pouty Lips xoxo

I've been so lucky to meet them and feel very sad to say that they will soon be leaving me to California. Today I just wanted to share a few of our Mommy & Me session pictures as a memory that we can share together, the fabulous people that come and go into our lives.

A Mother's Intuition

A few days ago I had a dream, in my dream I was with my two year old Caspian. He was sleeping and had a fever and I was caring for him, holding him in my arms I felt his little body convoluting ,  he was having a febrile seizure!!! Ok it was more of a nightmare, when I woke up it was 4 AM in the morning and I just had to check on him, I found that my little guy had a high temperature of 100.9 and thanks to my dream I woke up in time to cool him down and give him medicine before it got to the point that required a visit to the emergency room. (Caspian has only had one febrile seizure and his last was over a year ago, they are scary but luckily not serious) It is this intuition of 6th sense that we mother's posses and make us so valuable to our children and darn right special! :)

Today is my 2nd mother's day, and I am very thankful to have such a loving little family. My husband Kevin and son made me and my mother-in-law who is in for a few weeks as part of her mother's day gift, homemade Mother's day Cards, I got Lindor truffles and Guirradeli caramel filled chocolates. Hubby treated us both to a manicure and spa pedicure, I got a beautiful lace dress and earrings, and other fabulous and fashionable clothing to fill my closet. A new pair of wedges and finally a delicious dinner Red Lobster on May 10th for me and Outback Steakhouse tonight for my mother in law. In between our eventful day I was throughly showered with hugs, kisses and lots of snuggles, I could not ask for anything else.

Through my photography journey I have gotten to meet a lot of wonderful women who are fabulous people but more than that they are all amazing mothers. I want to share and wish all of you mommies a very happy mother's day, I hope you were all spoiled and showered with attention.

The Fabulous Garnetts

Ashley contacted me about getting pictures done a few months ago, waiting on the warm weather we finally scheduled our session for April. We met at the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, VA where I had the joy of meeting her three little kiddos, Savanna, Trinity and Tyler as well as their two furry babies.

Despite the clouds threatening to rain I knew this little family was going to be fun and we were going to have a great session!

Beautiful Savanna

Sweet little gymnast Trinity, keep your eyes on the olympics, she was doing flips and turns at our session, I wouldn't doubt seeing her on television in a few years

A pose all his own, Tyler was so full of personality my camera loved him!

The entire family, furry babies and all

Trinity and Savanna are such sweet little girls, they had no problem hugging each other and posing for me and the camera.

Its difficult to say how parents find time for each other after caring for three little ones, but Ashley and Hubby were naturally comfortable and their sweetheart images reflected nothing else.

And some black and whites of the kiddos to mix it up a little.
Tyler did this all on his own, this is one of the murals found on the trails behind the historic museum.

The session ended with just minutes to spare as the first drops of rains fell just in time for us to make it to our cars. I had such a wonderful time with this family I wish I could do it again. Being a military family they are soon to leave Virginia to PCS to a different duty station, I feel so blessed to have met them and captured their memories.  Perhaps one day we will be stationed in the same place yet again and I may document another chapter in their fabulous lives!

Until next time,
Jenne Vazquez
