Sophia Providencia | Newborn

Sophia came in at already 2 months old and I doubted in my heart we would have these cute little poses from her. But the stars must have aligned because little Sophie slept throughout most of the beginning of our session. So wonderfully posable and completely content, mommy Saskia and I were able to snuggle her up and capture her mini body into picture perfect sculptures.

When clients bring their own things it makes for more fabulous photographs, this bow for example was brought by Sophia's mommy and its a  wonderful little keepsake to be able to say, "I fit in this?" one or a few years from now.

Cannot get over how darling her little lips look in these images, Just want to kiss her little cheeks! xoxo

She finally woke up and let us see her lovely blues, or grays or greens, we're not quite sure yet what color they are :)

Daddy took a turn snuggling on baby Sophie, gotta love daddy bear hugs!

<3 In love with how gorgeous this image turned out! The light looks as if it were shinning from within. Saskia is such a beautiful woman and mother!

Let's not forget my trademark photos with baby in a wreath :) These are one of my favorites because any time they see a wreath they will be able to say, I was once that small that my body fit inside a wreath. Love!

Again, personalized props are the best, specially when they have your name on it! Lol

I'm so lucky to have had the chance to photograph such wonderful people, cannot wait to do it again!

Just Playing Around

So after Thursday's session I had my camera with me whenI went to pick up Caspian from Dehaven's Daycare. My little boy was outside playing without a shirt on because it was so hot. Virginia weather is so unpredictable.
Gloria and Caspian are best of friends, they like to do silly things together including painting piggy banks, sharing their meals, bathing, dancing and getting in trouble together. Here I caught them dancing in the garage. I love how graceful they are!

The kids pushed out the mini-motor vehicle and rode around the lawn for a few minutes until the battery died. I thought it was cute to see Baby Donnie driving while everyone else pushed.

They have so much fun together! <3

J* Starstruck!

So there I was with a huge knot in my stomach face to face with one of my photographic-heroes. Speechless and completely dumbfounded as she greeted me and said a kind "Thank you for coming!" I mumbled something about being from Orange County, CA and then turned over as I had my picture hastily taken by one of the TheFIX volunteer photographers. She then offered to sign my recently purchased copy of EXPOSED magazine, a story about her life and her struggles, which I'd forgotten that I was holding. I told her how she had actually answered one of my twitter questions up on stage and my name was correctly said "Jenn-E" and told her Thank you. It was only after that I was able to understand what had just happened, I had been face to face with one of my favorite photographers of all time and I had not known what to say. I felt awkward and weird because it had been a scary-cool moment. I still remember the shimmer in her eyeshadow and the gorgeous white smile that looked back at me.

POLO is in this bus!! <3

J*
Jasmine Star (www.jasmine-star.com) Is an Orange County, California based International Wedding photographer. She went to UCLA (where I am going to get my  Fine Arts Degree :) And instead of continuing on to Law School she decided to be a photographer. Her story is much deeper that that but that's the skinny of it and I absolutely LOVE her because she's hispanic and I identify with her but more than that, she is honest, determined and REAL.
Me (Completely Starstruck) & Jasmine looking gorgeous!

My Friend Samantha Martin <3 Who convinced me to go to the FIX in DC

J* Sat on this chair! (I know I'm weird) lol

 I <3 J*

The last thing I said as I scurried off was "I'll see you in California!" And so I plan to do so, because Jasmine Star does live close to home I hope to one day get past being Starstruck and gain her respect as a photographer myself. Until then and in her famous words "Stay Fabulous!"

New Playlist

Change is good. Enjoying the new playlist on Shuffle hopefully to sing a new song at every sing-in. I finally figured out how to keep my over-active two year old quiet for a few minutes while I edit. Now I sit him down next to me give him coloring materials and play music for him. Sometimes he likes to get up and dance which is even better :) Started the day off so wrong and added a little bit of tunes and my day looks good from here on. Finishing up on these Shamrock sessions from this weekend and getting ready for Jasmine Star in DC tomorrow.
